The Winter Scenes at Metea Valley High School were started as a way for students to experience firsthand the challenges and rewards of directing and producing small scenes or one-act plays, as well as the skill of producing a show in an intimate setting, all while working with small groups of like-minded and driven individuals.
THIS YEAR'S SCENES -
Cut by Ed Monk, directed by Kai Szala and Charlie Nordahl, is a play about a play gone wrong, and then gone wrong again, and then again? How many layers can you peel away from a play until the actors lose track of who and what they are?
Speed Date by Janet Allard, directed by Nisha Iyer and Gabi Gariazo, is a fast paced dating game involving characters who really are characters.
Imagine, written and directed by our very own Ciniyah Young and Nevaeh Maxey, is a slam poetry meets theater combination that is a social commentary about equality and persevering through inequities and oppression despite societal ceilings.
Shows are February 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7 PM in the Metea Valley Theater Black Box.
General Admission is $10, Students/Seniors is $5! Seating is limited and is a first come, first serve basis. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before showtime. See you then!
